Oblisten Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 26, 2026
Oblisten is an iOS app for listening to and reviewing Markdown notes from an Obsidian Vault selected by the user. This policy explains how Oblisten handles data.
Data stored on your device
Oblisten stores the following data locally on your device:
- The security-scoped bookmark needed to reopen the Vault folder you selected.
- A local index of Markdown files and the text needed for playback and review.
- Playback history, review progress, scheduling information, and app preferences.
- Audio generated by the optional cloud text-to-speech feature. Cached audio can be removed from the app's settings.
- A SiliconFlow API key you provide for optional cloud text-to-speech. The key is stored in the iOS Keychain and is not included in the app or its source code.
Oblisten does not modify your Vault files. Disconnecting a Vault stops access to that folder. Removing the app deletes its locally stored data according to standard iOS behavior.
Apple text-to-speech
Apple system voices are the default speech option. When Apple text-to-speech is used, note text is processed by Apple's system frameworks on the device and is not sent by Oblisten to the developer's servers.
Optional SiliconFlow cloud text-to-speech
Cloud text-to-speech is optional and is disabled unless you select it and provide your own SiliconFlow API key. When you use this feature, Oblisten sends the text selected for speech and your API key directly to SiliconFlow over HTTPS so SiliconFlow can generate audio. SiliconFlow may associate requests with the account represented by the API key and processes that information under its own terms and privacy policy.
The generated audio is returned to the app and may be cached locally on your device. If the cloud request fails, Oblisten falls back to Apple system speech.
Oblisten does not operate an intermediary server for cloud speech requests and the developer does not receive your note text or API key.
Data collection and tracking
Oblisten does not require an account and does not include advertising, third-party analytics, or cross-app tracking. The developer does not receive your Vault contents, playback history, review history, or API key.
The optional cloud text-to-speech provider receives the data described above only when you use that feature. Oblisten does not sell personal information.
Children
Oblisten is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not provide social networking, public user-generated content, messaging, or advertising.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Oblisten's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published.
